Posted by Dan on Jun 25, '05 8:36 PM for everyone Nothing particularly unusual or ambitious - just a little ambient Indian-inspired piece I did in GarageBand a while ago. 6 minutes, MP3. | Sitarday Night | | Unlabeled | | Dan Birchall | |
 | I could be completely retarded, but is there something in GarageBand that will let you save a file as an MP3? (or is it in iTunes?)
I'd been searching, but perhaps I just haven't found it yet. I have another piece of software that I could use to convert, if necessary...of course, I can't get the serial number to take, however. |
 | It's been months since I did this, but I think there was something in GarageBand that let me export it into iTunes as an AIFF, and then iTunes can convert from AIFF to MP3 (or AAC). I'd have to look to be sure. |
 | that's about where i'm at...i know iTunes can convert the AIFF to AAC, but i wasn't sure if MP3 software could read AAC without any sort of handshaking issue. i'm fairly positive that the parents who are interested in my summer camp kids recordings probably have PCs, although some may know the Mac side of the Force. :) |
 | In iTunes, if you select MP3 instead of AAC for your... import? format, the "Convert to..." option becomes MP3, instead of AAC. :) |

yeah, i tried changing the Import filter and it worked. now i can put all the little kids's songs online. :D

 | Loved the pun and loved the music, Dan...Love a good twang, and nothing has it like a sitar or a 5-string banjo...I'm talking about the string sound with just one pluck.
Bet you play all sorts of strings, doncha? |
 | Adorei a música... Muito bonita... Beaultiful...
